Anti-Bullying

Most people understand bullying as behaviour by an individual or group, repeated over time, that is intended to hurt another individual or group either physically or emotionally. If your child is struggling with bullying, harassment, cyberbullying or anti-social behaviour issues, please help us help you by contacting your child's Head of Key Stage.  It is important that this behaviour is not tolerated. At Newtown High School we promote the ethos of 'A Mind to be Kind'.

In the recent pupil voice that has taken place across all year groups, pupils said:

  • Cases of bullying were incredibly rare and when they have occurred they have been dealt with effectively.
  • Nearly all felt reassured that instances of bullying would be dealt with quickly and nearly all knew how to get support if needed.
  • They knew where and how to report bullying.

Reporting Bullying

Please encourage your child to report any incidences of bullying behaviour (either as a witness or as a target), confidentially, there are a number of ways you or your child can do this:

1) Via our Wellbeing Alerts on ClassCharts, this alert will go directly to your child's Head of Key Stage and Pastoral Support Officer to be acted on in school.

2) Via our 'CYMORTH' Button on the front page of the school Dashboard, accessed by logging into any school device.  By clicking on the 'button' a report may be made via a form which can then be acted on in school.

3) Please contact the relevant Head of Key Stage via the email addresses below if you require any support:
